The goal of this project was to create a earth friendly Sunday bulletin that would be passed out on Sundays to inform people of what was going on during the week.

The client had been using paper bulletins that it would print out every week and would get thrown away. They wanted to have a bulletin that was sustainable and created less waste. They also wanted the bulletin to be cost effective and save them money.

 

I took these prerequisites and created a reusable bulletin cover that was made with thick coated card stock that could be used over and over. These were able to purchase in bulk numbers, saving the client money. This cover housed information that was constant and never changed. For information of the week there was a black and white printed insert that people could save and put the schedule on their refrigerators or keep in their Bibles. At the end of service people were asked to recycle the covers in designated bins when they left. Those covers would be used the next week along with a new insert.

The result was a more sustainable bulletin that was better for the environment. People also took more time to read the insert within the bulletin because they had an action to take at the end of service and were more informed because of this. This also lowered the printing costs by 50% and made the bulletin process easier for volunteers because there were less steps to take.
