The goal of this project was to create a dynamic and elegant gift guide for Amazon's Luxury Beauty section of the website. The client wanted not only a version for Amazon.com, but also for Amazon.ca, the Canadian version of the popular retail website.

I worked closely with the required holiday style guide used for the holiday season throughout all sections of Amazon.com. Using elements from the style guide I helped to create a page that not only adhered to the holiday standards, but would also set Luxury Beauty apart from other sections of Amazon.com.

I began with wireframes and hi res imagery provided by my art director. We discussed that the client wanted a simple cohesive design that highlighted the beautiful Luxury Beauty products. Rose gold, white paper textures, and rose ribbon were the highlighted design features.

One of the challenges for this project was setting up the tile text to align using Amazon's content grid tool. There were many adjustments made to the text size in order to get the large tiles and small tile text to align and look as though they were the same size. I needed to keep in mind that these tiles would be scaled to all devices and the tile text needed to match up throughout all devices.

There was also a challenge translating the designs to the Canadian website. Because a lot of products in the provided photographs were not sold in Canada, I needed to work in asin images into the photographs to replace those products. I had to make these asin images look as realistic and high touch as possible in order to match the photographed products already in the imagery. In order to test the realism of the graphics I had fellow D1 designers see if they could pick out the real vs. fake product images. This helped me to identify which graphics needed revision.

Once I had the page locked down I moved on to make traffic driver graphics that would allow customers to reach the Luxury Beauty Gift Guide from other sections of Amazon.com.
